SiOnyx Aurora Wins Electronics Category in 2019 Miami Boat Show Innovation Awards
Day/night action camera chosen in the electronics category
MIAMI–(BUSINESS WIRE)–SiOnyx™, a leader in low light imaging technology – today announced that
the Aurora, a day/night action camera, has won the electronics category
of the 2019 Miami Boat Show Innovation Awards. The awards annually
recognize new, innovative products from the manufacturers and suppliers
of the marine industry.

judge, with incredible technology presented to our panel each year,”

of Boating Writers International. “This year the Aurora really impressed
us with its feature set including full color nighttime capabilities. The

a hotly-contested category.”
Designed for mariners and an active outdoor lifestyle, the
Aurora is the only HD action video camera with true day and night
color imaging. At just under eight ounces, it’s small and lightweight.
The camera is capable of capturing still, burst and 720p video with an
integrated HD OLED display for real-time color night vision.

at just $799, the Aurora is based on SiOnyx’s Ultra Low Light technology
that was previously only available in night vision devices costing
thousands of dollars. It is IP67 water resistant, as well as GPS-,
digital compass-, and WiFi-enabled. Free companion apps on iOS™ and
Android® enable real-time navigation or the ability to
control the Aurora directly from a smartphone.
The Innovation Awards are judged by the Boating
Writers International (BWI) and managed by the National
Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA). The 2019 award winners were
announced by BWI at the Innovation Awards breakfast, held February 15 as
a part of the Miami International Boat Show.
