James D. Julia Debuts Technologies That Set New Standards For The Way Auction Lots Are Viewed Online
November 21, 2012 --
Fairfield, Maine (PRWEB) November 21, 2012
James D. Julia, Inc., one of the nation's top ten antique auction houses, has just unveiled several innovative technologies in association with their November 28th and 29th Lamp & Glass and November 30th Advertising, Toy & Doll Auctions. These new features will revolutionize the way antique auction lots are presented, examined, and evaluated online.
The first enhancement involves the company's traditional printed catalogs from November 2012 onward. Selected lots will now feature a Quick Response or QR code, as part of their listings. When the QR code is scanned by QR enabled smartphones or tablets, Julias website listing of that particular lot is called up on that device. The QR code takes customers to the company's second new enhancement.
This second new enhancement will forever change the way auction enthusiasts view auction lots online. A select group of lots in the company's upcoming November, 2012 auctions feature its new 360° View technology. Every auction customer has been in the situation of wanting to bid on an item but not having enough information to confidently do so. This new technology, which details and magnifies multiple angles of each lot, allows customers to inspect items from every perspectivefrom the comfort of their own homes. Its as if lots were placed on a slowly rotating Lazy Susan for a personal review and evaluation! To experience this technology firsthand, click on the rotating camera icon located at the end of the lot description in the online catalog, which can be found at http://www.jamesdjulia.com.
QR codes and the 360° View feature are just the latest in a series of new features and initiatives designed to make the James D. Julia customer experience top notch from start to finish. According to CEO Mark Ford, "For four decades, our company has had a history of innovation in the antique auction industry and in providing the highest quality products and services to our clients. When I was hired as CEO last summer, I was charged to build on that tradition of excellence and taking our company to the next level - especially in the areas of service and technology. With the launch of our QR code and 360° View features, we are well on our way to creating a new standard - and expectation - of excellence not only at Julia's, but throughout the industry."
