EarthCam Makes Donation for Hurricane Sandy Relief

December 27, 2012 --

New York (PRWEB) December 27, 2012

EarthCam, the global leader in construction camera technology, has donated a portion of its November sales revenue to Liberty Island and Ellis Island in New York for Hurricane Sandy relief.

As the East Coast recovers from Hurricane Sandy, two of New York City's most iconic landmarks and heavily visited destinations are closed until further notice. Liberty Island, home to the world-famous Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island the gateway for millions of immigrants sustained damage due to flood waters and high winds. Both historic locations remain without power and basic infrastructure.

EarthCam chose Liberty Island and Ellis Island as the recipients of their donation due to their close ties with both islands. EarthCam installed webcams on the torch balcony of the Statue of Liberty on October 28, 2011 in an effort to share unprecedented views of Lady Liberty, Ellis Island and New York with people around the world. The views are cherished and loved by many, continuing to be among the most popular in EarthCam's global webcam network.

"Our clients have my heartfelt gratitude for their kindness, generous commitment and support to provide relief for those affected by Hurricane Sandy," said Brian Cury, CEO & Founder of EarthCam. "These donations will go a long way in helping Liberty Island and Ellis Island rebuild, ensuring they are able to educate generations to come."
