# 1 Apple's Historic First Quarter Results, by the Unbelievably Large Numbers

By Clip Syndicate It has been awhile since Apple caused investors' jaws to drop, but that's what happened earlier this week when it reported results for the first quarter. The Cupertino company set a new record for iPhone sales, thanks to its introduction of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Those sales propelled Apple's quarterly revenue to a new record high, and also set a record for quarterly profits — not just a record for Apple, but a new record for quarterly profits reported by any public company. # 5 Free Microsoft Office Apps are Now Officially Available on Android Tablets

By Clip Syndicate Android tablet users now have full-fledged Word, Excel and PowerPoint apps — for free. The beta versions of the Android apps have already been available in "preview" to some Microsoft users, but the official suite of Office apps launched in the Google Play store on Thursday. Some of the premium and business features, though, are only available for Office 365 subscribers. As with the Android, Microsoft Office for iOS, which launched in March 2014, is free to use. Of course, Microsoft has other plans for its Office suite beyond free-to-use apps. The desktop-friendly Office 2016 is slated for launch sometime later this year.
