Yesterday, Sony announced that it had sold 7 million PS4s to consumers, a colossal number pretty much any way you swing it. Well now, Microsoft has announced 5 million units were shipped to retailers, making the sell-through less than that, though by how much we cant say. Nintendo announced on Tuesday night that the highly anticipated next-gen installment of Super Smash Bros. will finally release on the 3DS this summer and on the Wii U in fall. Along with the release window, Nintendo also went into detail about the visual enhancements of the multiplatform title, the games dedication to the competitive fighting community and the introduction of some new faces. Both versions of the game will also feature two separate modes of play: For Fun and For Glory.

Yesterday, Nintendo devoted an entire forty minute Nintendo Direct presentation to this years Super Smash Brothers for Wii U and 3DS. It was the largest, longest look at the game yet, and full of information about new and returning characters, along with new game modes, items and stages. Nintendo is splitting up the release of the two versions of the game, and by quite a wide margin at that.
