New A7 Version 7.3 Sets Standard for Enterprise Scalability and Features for Web-Based Resource Management
October 01, 2008 --
AUSTIN, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 10/01/08 -- Artemis International Solutions Corporation, a leading provider of Project Portfolio Management solutions and a wholly owned subsidiary of Versata Enterprises, Inc., announced today the release of Artemis 7 (A7), Version 7.3. A7 enables an organization's total investment, portfolio, planning and control needs, including IT Portfolio Management, New Product Development, and Strategic Asset Optimization.
Version 7.3 provides several major enhancements, along with significant performance and quality improvements. Foremost amongst the enhancements is the Advanced Resource Management (ARM) module. ARM provides features for managing on an enterprise scale, capable of handling up to 30,000 resources. ARM also provides powerful features such as multiple timescales, multiple resource type units, configurable workflows, and spreadsheet-based data entry. The new release also includes an enhanced model for Data Rollup Process Automation. This model provides streamlined and optimized project, resource, and financial data rollup for enhanced, high-performance reporting. Consistent with Artemis' pledge to build the most scalable products in the marketplace, A7 7.3 delivers a 65% improvement in user productivity across the 20 most common user tasks. Additionally, the new release provides 30+ productivity enhancements and bug fixes prioritized by customers over the past 6 months.
Randy Jacops, President and CEO of Artemis and parent Versata, commented, "Artemis has a long history of market-leading products in the portfolio management space. When we acquired the company in 2006, we pledged to address long-requested customer features and to deliver the most scalable, lowest cost solutions in the industry. The new A7 release represents a bold step forward in our commitment and we expect continued significant releases over the next 12 months. Our relentless commitment to customer input in prioritizing investment and involving customers in defining and evaluating early releases maximizes customer impact. We believe product releases focused on scalability, user-driven features, reduced total cost of ownership, and exceptional quality will ensure Artemis remains a world class solution."
Dan Carroll, Director of Product Strategy, commented, "Several customers participated in the early review and testing of the product, driving our confidence on fit to customer requirements and readiness for enterprise deployment. Managing up to 30,000 resources prompted several iterations to ensure we achieved customer expectations. To achieve those expectations, we developed an innovation for customizing workflow and data entry to increase user productivity by 20% and optimize resource capacity, thereby preserving the core product goal of delivering expected functionality with market leading scalability. We will now turn our attention to both enhanced portfolio management (including scenario management and multi-criteria analysis) and improved schedule management, with the next release of A7 targeted for January 2009."
The A7 release follows recent upgrades of other Artemis portfolio management products, including Artemis Views V8.1, released September 18th, 2008, and Artemis 9000/EX, V11.0, released in July 2008. In so doing, Artemis affirms its commitment to 2 major releases per product per year into the foreseeable future.
