SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/06/12 -- Last night the world renowned DEMO conference hosted DEMO Enterprise Disruption: An Evening of Change and Innovation, underwritten by Fusion-io, where four of today's most forward-thinking companies took to the stage to demonstrate their innovations designed to change tomorrow's enterprise. The four companies were joined on stage by industry visionary and Fusion-io Chief Scientist Steve Wozniak who demonstrated Fusion-io latency reducing Auto Commit Memory extension breaking one billion input and output operations per second (IOPS).
"Enterprise innovations often have a broad reaching impact not only to the productivity of the company as a whole, but also to the day-to-day lives of employees, customers and more," said Matt Marshall, executive producer of DEMO. "We're excited to have had the opportunity to team up with DEMO alumnus Fusion-io for the DEMO Enterprise Disruption event, and to offer a first look at the broad steps in technology advancements made by today's top start-ups."
Companies and technologies featured at DEMO Enterprise Disruption: An Evening of Change and Innovation included:
- Teamitt: A new collaboration tool for the enterprise, which seeks to motivate employees.
- 1DocWay: A web-based telemedicine system looking to expand healthcare access in rural areas.
- Diffbot: The Diffbot API allows software developers to easily use web data in any application.
- Sococo: The Sococo Team Space is a virtual work environment that lets co-workers meet and collaborate remotely.
The DEMO Enterprise Disruption event also boasted a special technology presentation from Fusion-io featuring Steve Wozniak along with Fusion-io CEO and Chairman, David Flynn, and Fusion-io co-founder Rick White. During the demonstration, Wozniak showcased new breakthroughs in low latency data performance and the one billion IOPS barrier being broken when transferring 64 byte data packets. Fusion-io's stage demonstration was a preview of an extension to the ioMemory architecture called Auto Commit Memory, which significantly reduces latency and system overhead in transferring data.
To cap off the night, Wozniak sat down with Matt Marshall and creative visionary Leonard Nimoy to discuss how past innovations have impacted today, and how today's innovations will change the world of tomorrow. The event also featured Dr. Forest Baskett of New Enterprise Associates, Chris Schaepe of Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Peter Wagner of Alpha Venturi, who discussed how advancements in the enterprise are altering the landscape of today's businesses.
