Microsoft's Satya Nadella's "Mobile First, Cloud First" Strategy In Focus With Pending Earnings

Microsoft is set to announce its third quarter 2014 earnings today. During the quarter, the company named Satya Nadella, former head of the cloud and enterprise division, as its new CEO. Over the course of last two months, Nadella has re-stated Microsoft's commitment to developing a comprehensive suite of software that extensively uses cloud technology, and is easily deployable on mobile devices. Additionally, the company continues focus on the sale of smart connected devices such as tablets and smartphones to bolster its revenues, and improve its market share in mobile devices vertical. It is also focusing on its Virtualization and Cloud platforms, respectively called Hyper-V and Azure, to leverage the fastest growing segments of its enterprise markets. Read More >>

New Data Suggests Galaxy S5 Stole A Surprising Amount Of Business Away From Apple

data shared from used gadget trade-in site Gazelle showed that iPhone users, for the most part, appeared to be largely uninterested in switching to Samsungs latest flagship smartphone , the Galaxy S5 . UK-based gadget trade-in comparison website CompareMyMobile says it surveyed everyone who used its portal to trade in smartphones between February 24th when Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S5, and April 11th when the new handset launched. With this new feature, the company found that current iPhone owners in the UK were by far the largest group trading in their old phones in preparation to purchase a new Galaxy S5.

Juniper's Revenue Rises As Telecom Clients Ramp Up Networks

Network gear maker Juniper Networks Inc reported a higher-than-expected 10 percent rise in quarterly revenue as U.S. telecom carriers spent more to ramp up their networks to manage increasing data traffic on smartphones and tablets. Juniper's revenue from telecom customers, including Verizon Communications Inc and AT&T Inc,rose about 10 percent in the first quarter ended March 31.The telecom services business accounted for more than two-thirds of Juniper's total revenue.
