December 07, 2011 --
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 07, 2011
On December 9, 2011, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Robert Weiss, LCSW, CSAT-S, founder of the Sexual Recovery Institute and Director of Sex and Intimacy Disorders Services at The Ranch Treatment Center in Tennessee, will speak about the influence of online media on sex and pornography addictions.
Titled Assessment, Diagnosis and Treatment of Sex and Pornography Addictions in the New Media Frontier, the presentation will explore the effects of online media on the problems of sex and pornography addiction and offer strategies for putting an end to destructive behaviors. Clinicians and other interested parties are invited to Maggianos Little Italy Perimeter Center in Atlanta to learn about sex and pornography addictions and the full range of treatment options.
During the presentation, Mr. Weiss will:
- Educate attendees about the characteristic symptoms of sex addiction and the process of sexual recovery
- Explore the causes of sexually addictive behavior
- Discuss the effects of online media on the problems of sex and porn addiction
- Offer strategies for healing relationships and offering support to a betrayed spouse
- Provide helpful resources for additional learning
Sex and pornography addictions have been complicated by the easy accessibility of adultery websites, virtual chats, smartphone sex apps and other online media, said Mr. Weiss. Educating professionals about the assessment and treatment of sex and pornography addictions will help local clinicians be more effective in their professional practices.
