REMODELING Magazine Releases 2013 Annual Cost vs. Value Report, Highlights Best Remodeling Projects for Maximum Return on Investment

REMODELING Magazine announced today the release of its 26th annual Remodeling Cost vs. Value Report covering the 35 most popular home remodeling and renovation projects. The 2013 report covers 81 U.S. cities and is available for download at http://www.costvsvalue.com. The report contains data that compares construction costs for popular remodeling projects against the share of those costs recovered at resale. In addition to city data, the report includes tables with national and regional averages.
For the first time in six years, the overall average cost-value ratio has improved, reaching 60.6 percent, said Sal Alfano, Editorial Director of Hanley Woods Residential Remodeling Group. This year is a complete turnaround from the previous report when percentages dropped in all but three categories.
In 2013, the five remodeling projects with the highest return were 1) Entry Door Replacement; 2) Fiber Cement Siding; 3) Wood Deck Addition; 4) Garage Door Replacement; and 5) Minor Kitchen Remodel.
