Pixel Squid: Easily add 3D

Photoshop panel allows easy compositions

By Ko Maruyama

If you've ever wanted to inject a 3D object into your photo, whether it's a Star Wars character, or a simple seasonal icon, Pixel Squid makes is very easy.

Pixel Squid is now a subscription service that allows designers to select 3D objects from a growing library, and place them into their compositions easily.

The value of Pixel Squid is that the compositor doesn't need to have any technical 3D chops at all.  If you can click and drag, you can start to place 3D objects into your scene.

The Adobe Photoshop panel allows you to rotate the images in 3D space to fit your camera angle by simply clicking and dragging on the image.

There's an iOS app as well as a Facebook app to get you started on the go.

The Facebook app is limited to a few 3D objects that are more for "silly posts" than the professional quality that the website library offers.

Check it out  - http://pixelsquid.com .  IT'S FREE TO PLAY.  Subscribe when you're ready to take off the watermark.  One piece of client work can pay for your year's subscription.
