At this year's SIGGRAPH convention in Los Angeles, California, artists from various disciplines meet to talk about graphics, properties of graphics, and technology surrounding the creation of graphics.  Jean Kaneko has created a space near the SIGGRAPH art gallery to allow attendees to create physical art that inspires invention.

The space is much more than a place to create some interactive projects, it's a location where artists and designers can meet each other and collaborate on small, personal works that don't carry the stress that professional work might.  The atmosphere around the tables carries a sense of camaraderie and sharing of knowledge.  The critiques on process are helpful and patient.

On Wednesday, Gil Irizzary teaches a large class on the programming process of Arduino.  The learning atmosphere coupled with a maker environment creates a fun space to hang out in during the time between the often technically intense sessions that happen all day long.

The MAKING space that Jean has created is entertaining, enlightening, and inspiring. You can find out more about Jean's work at her studio: THE EXPLORATORY by visiting their website www.theexploratory.com
