"we've had ups and downs with the arena and jackals certainty we've had successful years with jackals." but last few years the jackals played ..attendance at the first arena went down.. twin tiers economic development took the team over.. as a community team.. but the empty chairs added up..and forced the team into a debt hole... they're now asking the county legislature to approve a room tax..to pay off these debts.. "that room tax is used for tourism types of activities in community..it's gone towards the team previously." they're asking for four hundred fifty thousand dollars.. "with a lot of local vendors not being paid moving forwarded what's their participation and enthusiasm moving forward?" krusen says the t-t-e-d is a community board..that does not have the funding.. if the tax isn't approved tonight..they will have to treat it like a bankruptcy and vendors won't be paid "certainty i don't think that's a good thing for a community..it was a community team..it did operate for a year with the deficits." one of the county legislators i spoke with..joe brennan.. has been vocal about the vote on his fb page.. he told me it's unfortunate that the local vendors may not get paid. but it's a risk in business that is not the community's responsibility to pay.. reporting live in the
